1. General Terms & Conditions

1.1.  Places are allocated on a first-come first-served basis, with priority given to students who are re-enrolling in a class.

1.3.  Please check time and dates carefully. No further reminder will be made, but you will always be notified of any unexpected changes in a class schedule.

1.4.  In case of an emergency, we will call, email or Whatsapp to communicate with parents. Please ensure that we have your updated contact details so that you receive communications from us. If you are uncertain which contact details you provided us with, please contact us, and we will update your email address and your telephone number.

1.5. By attending our lessons, you agree to all terms and conditions in this policy.

1.6. Edugate reserves the right to amend the policy without notice and in any disputes, the policy stated here will be the enforceable one.

2. Invoicing, Payment & Admittance

 

2.1. Invoices will be issued based on the number of lessons per month available for your child’s selected time-slot and must be settled accordingly.

2.2. Students will be admitted into a lesson once lesson fees have been settled.

2.3. In case of any outstanding payments, we reserve the right to suspend a student from a lesson.

2.4. We accept payments by cheque, cash or FPS mobile transfers.

3. Before & After Lessons

 

3.1. Edugate is not responsible and cannot be held accountable for your child before or after a lesson in any way. Parents and guardians must be within 5 minutes reach of the lesson venue in case of emergencies.

3.2. It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to inform us about any medical conditions of their child, such as allergies to certain food.

3.3. Washroom arrangement: To maximise our class-time, students should use the washroom before or after lesson. You are advised to have a guardian near the venue to escort your child to the washroom.

3.4. Students will be dismissed on time. Please ensure that a parent or guardian is there to collect your child.

4. Absences & Cancellation

 

4.1. All cancellations must be made before your child’s scheduled lesson. Failure to do so will result in ‘no-show’.

4.2 No-shows will not be tolerated or accommodated. Full charges will apply and no credit will be issued.

4.3.To maintain our learning standards, students are required to attend a minimum of 70% of all scheduled lessons in their prospective class.

4.4. Due to limited availability, no make-ups will be offered for cancellations or absences. Adjustments will be made in a consecutive invoice issued for the upcoming month.

4.5. A maximum of 2 cancellations are allowed every 2 months, and full credit will be adjusted to your account in the next cycle upon review. No-shows will not be counted as a cancellation.

*Summer sessions will follow a separate arrangement.

4.5. No refund or credit will be issued if you decide to withdraw your child from their programme.

4.6.  We reserve the right to cancel courses due to insufficient enrolment. Every effort will be made to place students in a similar course. If none are available, a refund will be issued.

4.7.  If we cancel a class due to teacher absence, a credit will be issued.

5. Weather Conditions

 

5.1. In the interest of your children’s safety, we follow the guidelines of the Education Bureau (EDB)Hong Kong Observatory, and Edugate’s Weather Policy.

5.2. When in doubt, parents should consult our website (www.edugate.hk/policy) for arrangements in inclement weather. Parents will not be notified individually.

Severe Weather – Typhoon & Rainstorm

  1. Black rainstorm warning OR Typhoon signal number 8 or above    –   All lessons cancelled (unless an alternative arrangement has been made).

    1. Typhoon signal number 3 – All kindergarten lessons cancelled (unless an alternative arrangement has been made).

    2. All lessons resume if rainstorm warnings or typhoon signals have been lowered 2 hours prior to the lesson. There will be no refunds, credit or make-ups if you decide that your child will not attend the lesson.

6. Safety

 

6.1.  Participants are expected to abide by the regulations of the facility. This will be strictly enforced and we reserve the right to ask anyone who does not abide by the rules or behaves unreasonably to leave immediately.

6.2.  Edugate teachers and administrative staff are not responsible for any injury to participants, or damages or loss of property as a result of participation in our lessons.

7. Photo & Video

7.1. Edugate teachers and staff may occasionally use cameras and videos during sessions and classes for technical feedback/assessment, or for use in promotional publications and on our website.

7.2. These images will not be passed onto third parties.

7.3. If parents do not wish us to use photos that include their child, please advise us in writing.

7.4. Please be reminded that Edugate owns the copyright of all photos and video footage taken at Edugate organized classes or events.
